Families who completed applications for their students will be notified of their school matches in April by mail, by logging into www.newarkenrolls.org, and through their current schools. School match letters will also include information about school registration.
Students who did not participate in this application round but who need a school placement or want a new school for the 2014-2015 school year will have the opportunity to apply in a second application round (Round 2) which will open in May. Please note that only schools with open seats will be available in Round 2.
Thank you to those families who have exercised school choice for your child by submitting a One Newark Enrolls application. We look forward to informing you of your school matches in April.
One Newark Enrolls is a universal enrollment system of true choice where all families can access great schools – whether district or charter – for their children.
Families in transitional grades, entering school for the first time, or looking to change schools benefit from:
For its 2014-15 school year launch, the universal enrollment process will follow three stages:
Parents will determine whether their student needs a new school and learn about the participating schools by attending School Fairs, visiting schools during a normal school day, and talking to their child about new school options.
Parents will choose up to 8 schools that they would like their child to attend, and rank schools accordingly. They will fill out the common application at home or complete and submit an application at any participating school.
Parents will receive a letter matching their child to one school in April 2014. All students are expected to attend their matched school for the 2014-2015 school year.
